What Can the Yaskawa V1000 Inverter Do?

Yaskawa Family

Q. Does the V1000 come with an EMC filter?

The V1000 IP66 version does include a built in filter, the IP20 models do not, although these can be ordered at the same time if required.

Q. Can I mount the V1000 on its side?

The V1000 Inverter needs to be mounted as instructed - vertically. If the space available is awkward, the alternative model, Yaskawa GA700 can be mounted on its side (horizontally) up to 75Kw.

Q. Can I get a water cooled V1000?

Water cooling can be adapted to the IP20 Finless version. Order with option J in the model code. The inverter becomes incredibly compact when ordered without fins. The frame size starts from the same footprint as a standard mobile phone (68 W x 128 H x 71 Deep) up to 0.75 Kw. When this is selected, it is designed to be fixed to an external heatsink, excellent for panels in bad environments.

Q. Does the inverter come with STO?

Yes, the V1000 has functional safety built in. It complies to ISO13849-1 CAT3, PLd and IEC61508, SIL2. This function can be employed by connecting the emergency stop button or safety circuit to input terminals H2, H1 and HC. Please consult a qualified technician to ensure your safety circuit design meets your application requirements.

Q. How many digital inputs and outputs do I get on the Yaskawa V1000?

There are 7 digital inputs, 1 relay output, two digital outputs. There is a pulse train input and output terminal RP and MP which can take frequencies up to 32Khz. They can be used to drive panel meters or feedback signals to the PID, selectable through parameters H60-01.

Q. Is there comms on board the V1000 as standard?

Out of the box You can connect RS-485/422 to terminals R+, R-, S+, S-, and communication speed is up to 115kbps. Other protocols are supported with the addition of a communication interface unit: Profibus, DeviceNet, CANopen, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet IP, EtherCat, Profinet, CC-Link.

Q. Does the V1000 offer dynamic braking?

Yes, the dynamic break resistor can be fitted to B1 and B2 terminals, over a set size an external braking chopper unit may be required. We can supply these units and can help to spec the correct size. Please feel free to seek our technical knowledge by calling one of the team on 01905 887 667.

Q. Can I fit an external Keypad to the V1000 Inverters?

Yes, there is an LED operator unit or a slightly higher spec LCD unit and operator extension cable available for the V1000 Drives.

Q. Can I run an SPM (Surface Permanent Magnet) or IPM (Internal Permanent Magnet) motor?

Yes, you can run the inverter in PM open loop vector control. Yaskawa produce an SSR1 series motor. Set parameter A1-02 = 5 for SPM or IPM motors.

Q. What input voltages ranges do the V1000 inverters come in?

Single phase 200 - 240VAC +10% /-15%, 3 phase 200 - 240VAC +10%/-15%, 3 phase 380VAC – 480VAC +10%/-15%.

Q. Can I operate the V1000 in Torque control?

Open loop vector control can control in four different quadrants. Parameter settings L7-01,02,03,04.

Q. Can I use the Yaskawa V1000 inverter in high torque applications?

Yes, the Yaskawa V1000 can be used on extruders or loads that require high starting torques. Typically the inverter can deliver 200% at 0.5Hz in open loop vector control.
